Ewe Culture Takes Center Stage: Paramount Chief Leads Colorful Celebration at Winneba University

The University of Education Winneba, Faculty of Ghanaian Languages Education, Ajumako, has the privilege to have the overload of Avenor Traditional Area, Torgbiga DORGLO ANUMA VI, chaired her 2024 Ewe Departmental Week Celebration, which was a colourful event over the weekend.
Torgbiga DORGLO ANUMA VI, Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Area and President of Avenor Traditional Council with some of his chiefs and queen from the Avenor land joined by other chiefs and queens from other parts of the Volta Region and beyond made a colourful visit to Ajumako in the Central Region to grace the occasion.
It is a yearly event organized by the students in the department to sell the Ewe culture and mimic the Ewe tradition hence making it lived on.
Torgbiga DORGLO ANUMA VI in his speech pledged to communicate a passionate appeal made by Dr. Emmanuel Dogbey, head of the Ewe Department on behalf of the Department about establishing the Ewe Language learning faculty in any of the public universities in the Volta Region to the Volta Regional house of chiefs for careful consideration in the effort to develop the Ewe Language and culture.
He donated a cash amount of Gh5000.00 to the department and pledged for other supports in the future.
